Hello Everyone!

We are Phoebe and Ronan, a dynamic duo eager to extend a helping hand in caring for your beloved pets during our free hours. Allow us to introduce ourselves: I am a 27-year-old Graphic Designer, and my partner, Ronan, is a 30-year-old Director of Basketball and Head of Learning Support at a local school.

Describing us in a nutshell, we're a fun-loving, humorous, dependable, and well-organised couple. As proud New Zealand residents for nearly four years now, we've fallen head over heels for this beautiful country. Our motivation for pet sitting stems from our deep love for animals. Sadly, our current residence doesn't permit pets, preventing us from having our furry friend. Hence, Pawshake is the perfect avenue for us to revel in animal interaction while assisting pet owners in need.

My previous experiences include working in the Cattery at the SPCA and fostering cats. My duties at the SPCA involved ensuring fresh food and water for the cats, maintaining clean cages, and providing much-needed cuddle time. Ronan and I even fostered a 3-month-old kitten for over three weeks, an experience we cherished. Unfortunately, due to a change in our living situation, we had to discontinue fostering. My experience spans cats of all ages, from tiny kittens to wise 21-year-olds.

Growing up with a Burmese Cat with the loudest meow known to mankind, I've developed an unshakable fondness for feline friends. While my primary experience lies with cats, my workplace is dog-friendly, allowing me exposure to friendly and easy-going dogs. Ronan also has experience with cats and has walked dogs for family friends.

We genuinely love the company of animals, appreciating the loyalty and affection they offer.

Our availability primarily revolves around our 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM work hours, with evenings and weekends open for pet care. Depending on your location, we can sometimes accommodate early morning visits.

Home Visit: During a home visit, we'll engage in playtime with your pets, ensure they have fresh food and water, offer cuddles and pats, and attend to the litter tray or any mess made by your pet. Please provide specific instructions if needed, and we'd be more than happy to send you photo updates during our visits to keep you connected with your pet.

House Sitting: Opting for house sitting means we'll stay overnight in your home as a comforting presence for your pet. We'll ensure they're happy, well-fed, safe, and entertained. Recognising the importance of routines for animals, were more than willing to adhere to any specific instructions to minimise disruption. Additionally, we can take care of chores such as collecting the mail and tending to a few plants; just jot down your requests for us. For our stay, we'd require WiFi access, the ability to use your kitchen for meal preparation (based on the stay's duration), and a suitable place to sleep.

Walk: Our dog walks would last around 30-40 minutes and take place in a nearby location. Treats, cuddles, poop bags, and pickup/drop-off services are all part of the package. Safety being paramount, we do not offer off-lead walks, ensuring the well-being of your dog and those around us.

It's worth noting that I have undergone police vetting for my volunteer work at the SPCA, and Ronan is fully police vetted due to his school employment.

We are pretty flexible, so don't hesitate to communicate your needs, and we'll do our utmost to accommodate them.

We're respectful and take pride in maintaining a peaceful home environment. Rest assured, we would treat your pets and home with the same care and attention as we do our own. Your pets and home will be in loving and attentive hands.
