I understand the concern many owners feel when leaving your dog in a kennel while you are busy or away. For an animal that is used to companionship and the comforts of home, it can be a very stressful time so I endeavour to provide a home away from home, a place where your furry friend is loved, well cared for and included as part of the family.

As someone who genuinely cares for the welfare of our feathered and furry friends, I have a wealth of experience & training. My background includes training as a certified vet nurse and working as an equine vet nurse. Apart from caring for animals whilst vet nursing and previous experience providing dog & horse boarding, I have fostered many animals, (dogs, kittens, hedgehogs....), ridden & trained horses as well as spent many years looking after my own beloved pets.

I have a warm, comfortable home where I live with my dog Kai, who is a big friendly goofball and used to sharing his home & his mum with other dogs. Each dog will have their own large comfy bed in the lounge or I can make them a cosy bed in a crate if that's what they are used to. The property is fully fenced, however might not stand up to any escape artists!

There may be the odd occasion when I need to pop out for a couple of hours but I will be home most of the time, so animals in my care will receive large amounts of attention & care as well as an adventure to the park or beach each day. 

Any exercise will be tailored to your dog, taking into consideration their age, activity level & any ailments or physical limitations. As well as important rest periods to avoid overstimulation. Unfortunately I am unable to accommodate any dogs that are too high energy as I am not set up for this.

As your furry friend will be sharing my home, they will need to be good with other pets, house trained and used to being/sleeping inside without damaging anything (e.g. chewing, scratching doors). It is also important that they are wormed, flea free & up to date with their vaccinations. If they are staying overnight, please supply plenty of your dog's usual food when you drop them off to minimise changes and avoid any upset tummies. It can also be a good idea to provide one of their clean blankets as this helps them to settle in and feel safe & secure.

I am happy to administer any medications needed. Please let me know in advance if your dog has any behavioural problems or anxieties such as being scared of the vacuum cleaner monster!

Drop off and pick up is between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm as most dogs are getting hungry by then and want to go home and have their dinner (so does Kai!).

For overnight stays, the booking period is for 24 hours. The drop off time on the first day is also the pickup time for the last day. For example; dropping off at 10am Friday for 2 nights, pick up will be before 10am Sunday. If the pickup exceeds that time, please take this into consideration and book a doggy day care on the last day. This is much appreciated as I set aside time to spend with and take care of your dog, its very different to a kennel where they are confined most of the time.

Please feel free to check with me if you are unsure whether to book day care or not on the last day, especially with borderline cases with only a couple of hours more than the pick up time. We can discuss this and make arrangements in advance.

Dogs requiring special care due to medical conditions etc. may incur a surcharge if they have much higher needs than usual, however we can also discuss this in advance. 

I'm sorry I am unable to take any puppies under 12 months old.
