Kia ora e te whanau
I'm motivated to walk dogs by a belief in that animal care and self-care are one in the same. Through their companionship, enthusiasm and individual personalities the time spent with dogs can keep us in the present and can get us exercising more. It also helps your dog get more attention and exercise.
I am a working parent with a high-school age daughter. Originally from America, we've lived in Wellington for nearly 15 years & call Aotearoa home.
Our family currently includes 2 cats, and 2 budgies.
I've previously been Mom to Ziggy, a Tibetan spaniel and two rescued Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Rowan and Wiggins. I grew up with cats and dogs in the home as well. As a dog owner, I enrolled my dog in obedience training and we also spent time visiting aged care facilities to do pet therapy with elderly residents. Finally, when my husband and I moved to Wellington we were regular volunteers at the SPCA (then located in Newtown).
I am looking for part time dog walking work that can take place in the evenings and weekends (we can't take dogs into our home at this stage but we are building a fence in our garden this summer!). I'm fit and can ensure dogs get plenty of exercise. My level of experience with walking more than two dogs at once is limited.
I can also feed pets in your home--I have experience feeding cats in owners' homes in the Eastern suburbs through Pawhake--please check out my reviews.
Thanks for looking at my profile!
