Hi i'm Rachael, 35-year-old Welsh girl living in Wellington. I have been here for the past 5 years. Staying in a lovely rental but owning my own pet isn’t feasible unfortunately, so here I am!
I work as a PA at a school, so during the weekdays (8 – 4:30) i am unavailable but free in the evenings and weekends.
Since traveling, i have missed being around animals. I grew up with rabbits, cats, fish, guinea pigs and a dog.....not all at the same time. Im lucky enough to have a dog visit where i work and word got out that i love spending my time with animals. I have had the pleasure of looking after other people’s dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, sheep and fish.
I enjoy the outdoors, spending my weekends out and about exploring what the Wellington area has to offer. Being able to care for animals is another excuse for me to get out and keep up my fitness. Dog walking can be between 30-45 minutes long, always respecting their limits and needs.
I have transport of my own so am happy to travel moderately out of Wellington as needed to pick up or drop off from an adventure.
Im comfortable giving meds, cleaning up after, play with and generally hang out. Happy to sleep over, or just visit. Whatever your pet needs. Also if you have any plants that need watering or mail that needs to be brought into the house - im your gal.
Each home visit is 30min unless the owner and I come to another agreement.
If you are planning going away I’m able to stay at your place and look after your pets. Please give me any information about your pet’s food, medication required, vet and contacts in case of emergency.
