Hello! Thanks for taking the time to look at my profile. My name is Lauren, I'm a responsible 25-year-old artist. I love and treat all animals with compassion, kindness and empathize with them in any way that I can. Animals are innocent and cannot stand up for themselves so I've made it my mission to do what I can to help them via volunteering, fundraising, charitable contributions, and dietary choices. I'm originally from California and lived in a small suburb just outside of Los Angeles where I was well known as the local petsitter/housesitter. I have 7 years of experience taking care of other animals and houses and learned to deal with elder dogs with special needs, specifically pain reduction and administering medication.
I've owned lots of different animals throughout my life, from cats and dogs to rats and birds, and I loved them all. When I moved from America I had to leave my cat Mickey in the care of my mum. I miss them both very much but I get regular updates on their time together and they seem to be getting on great. I want to start pet sitting in my new city because I deeply miss being able to meet and bond with new animals and I'd like to get to know the animals and people of Wellington much better. I truly understand that both pets and your home are some of the most precious things in a persons life and I take that into consideration when I look after both.
My boyfriend and I live in a small rental house and I stay at home working as a fulltime freelance artist. Our house is extremely small (only 2 rooms) and the backyard isn't fenced in and is also quite hilly, sadly unsuitable for dog boarding at home, though I'd love to host them one day in a different setting. Cat boarding is fine though, my house has plenty of places for a cat to be comfortable in. My job allows me to have an extremely flexible schedule, so I'm available any time of day or night. I can also do my work from anywhere with internet, which frees me up to better serve your pet. We currently don't own any animals as we are renting and don't feel we could adequately care for an animal with such a volatile living situation, but I would love to adopt one as soon as we (one day) buy a house.
ALSO: Your pet will not be walked, cared for with or exposed to other unfamiliar animals without your permission! Your animals' comfort and safety is more important than anything!

Professional, on time, good communication.
Lauren visited my Cat whilst I was away over Christmas/New Years. She was feeding her and also clearing the litter tray. I was really impressed by Lauren's communication as she sent daily updates on Bernie including photos. My cat is very nervous around new people so I really appreciated that she took time to find her each day (she was hiding very well for the first couple days!) and put effort into making Bernie feel safe and cared for. At the beginning Bernie was hiding the whole time she was there but by the end they were great friends :) In fact I think my cat was annoyed to get me back and loose Lauren.... lol
