Kia ora, I am Amber. I grew up on a small rescue (no-kill) farm. My dad had a big heart and took in other farmer’s “reject” animals and cared for them as pets. In turn, I was shocked as an adult to hear people ate their pigs and cows. However, we also took in any strays that found their way to us, as well; dogs and cats. I have always had an animal with me.

Now, I have two rescue chihuahuas. One is aged 10 and the other is 6. They get along quite well and really enjoy being around other small/toy breed dogs. Small/toy dog temperaments are quite delicate and it requires a compassionate and doting person to understand the small/toy breeds and their very sensitive dispositions.

I have been a teacher for 10 years. It has taught me much about patience, working with people, compassion, boundaries and organisation. It has also amplified my love for the dog world. I am offering full-time dog care with a lifetime of knowledge and experience in my toolbelt. I am learning dog grooming from a Master Groomer and offer specific services for that, as well. Only vaccinated and kennel cough dogs permitted. Updated flea and worm maintenance.

I am HAPPY to take your dogs for a short walk ( 10 - 20 minutes with day care once per visit or 2 times a day with dog boarding or 30 - 60 minutes day rate ) through the DOC bush walk near my home and/or down to the beach - all on lead! Dogs sleep where is most comfortable for them; in the big bed, in their kennel, in their own bed. Just let me know what works best for their routine and comfort.
