Kia Ora,

My name is Anneke, and I am a fully qualified primary school teacher. 

I spent my school years growing up on a lifestyle block in Nelson, and we were lucky enough to always be surrounded by animals. I developed a deep love for caring for and looking after our dogs, cats, horses and alpacas.. Since leaving Nelson I miss being around animals immensely. 

In the past I have house sat and pet sat for a number of friends and family, looking after both dogs and cats. I love being able to help them out, but also love the animal contact, and taking care of a variety of animals! 

Having a dog of my own (who lives in Nelson) I understand the desire for your pet to be comfortable and well looked after, and I always do my utmost to make sure they are loved and kept safe, and look after any animal like he/she is my own. I understand the importance of up keeping each individual dogs needs, to ensure they are happy and healthy! I genuinely adore dogs so much, and believe they can bring so much happiness by just being them.

I am a very active person, and love to go on walks and exploring the area I live in. Bringing a dog on these walks with me brings me a lot of joy, and I love seeing them enjoy their time outside. In saying that, I am also a home body, and enjoy curling up with a book and spending my evenings at home. 

I am comfortable around any dog breeds and doing anything that is required. If you are needing more than just a home visit/house sitting for the dog I can water your plants, tidy the house and am happy to stay for however long you require! I love going on long walks, playing and entertaining dogs. I would be happy to entertain your dog for as long as you need! I am pretty flexible.

My top walking locations would 100% be dog friendly beaches, like Lyall Bay, some bush walks or simply just a stroll around the South Coast or Oriental Bay. I could never get bored of playing fetch, or tug, and am open to learning new tips and tricks!
