My name is Amber. I am a very experienced sitter. I am currently based in Dunedin and I have been in the animal care industry for the last eight years, including now being on Pawshake for over a year!

I absolutely love all animals and I am constantly working with them gaining knowledge. I have a wide range of experience caring for them, which ranges from years of in-home sitting, dog walking, dairy/bee farming. I am an ex-SPCA volunteer, and I am also raising my own three young cats.

A little about me: I am 23 years old and I was proudly raised in the South Island. I started out with a passion for animals at a young age as I grew up dairy farming, and have in recent years worked on a few farms around Central Otago. I have spent a lot of time around many animals (big and small) and I am very confident in my abilities to care for them. I started Dog walking/Pet sitting part-time around 8 years ago now via Facebook, and have continued to do so up until recently. I also have volunteer experience at the SPCA in Dunedin where I worked closely with the rescue cats/kittens. I have now been on Pawshake for well over a year now, looking after a wide range of pets full-time in both Dunedin and Queenstown. I originally put myself out there to see if anyone needed any help with their pets as I know it can be hard to find someone you trust to look after your fur family, and I have never looked back since! I have three young cats myself and have always found it difficult to trust leaving them in someone else's hands. So rest assured I will look after your babies as if they are my own 🙂

Info for house-visits/in-home sitting: Unfortunately I am unable to board at my home due to my own three cats and not having the spare space. But for house-visits I am able to come by your home and spend time with your animals from 30 minutes to an hour each visit. My schedule is pretty flexible so I am happy to come for house-visits at times they are normally fed to help ease their potential anxiety and keep their routine while you are away. I can stay overnight in your home for as long as we have arranged and I am more than happy to keep their schedule. I am able to feed, cuddle and play with them during my stay. I can give any medications if need be and as I have a car I can provide emergency transport. If you have a Pup I can take him/her on a walk or give them some exercise in your yard as well included in the pricing. I am also happy to help upkeep your home. I am happy to water plants, put bins out, bring mail in or anything else that needs to be done.

If you have a shy cat please rest assure they will be looked after and their boundaries will be well respected. My own two girls were extremely skittish upon arrival so I know that sometimes space is best.

For dog walking: I am happy to either walk your dog around your neighbourhood or I can pick your pup up and take them anywhere you'd like. I am happy to do this for up to an hour. I have space in my car for up to two dogs, so if you have multiple I'm happy to take both. If your dog is high energy or not the best on a lead, do not worry as I am very experienced with pups like this so I am happy to work with them and still give them the exercise they need.

I am also very confident around all farm animals.

I will always recommend a meet and greet to ensure we are all happy before you make your final booking. I can also travel to you.
