Hi! My name is Will Carome and I'm a Master's student studying Marine Science at the University of Otago where I'm examining the impact of tourism on Hector's dolphins. I love all animals and have extensive experience taking care of pets, both my own and others. I grew up with an joyful and loyal golden retriever, Buddy, who never ceased to brighten up my day. Long walks with him in the woods near my home are some of my favourite memories of growing up.

I've spent the past four months as a live-in petsitter for my boss in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA. While her and her husband were away together on research trips I cared for their four wonderful pets: Bruno (a 7-year old rhodesian ridgeback mix), Pepper (an 8-month old black lab mix), and two curious and energetic cats, Cleo and Bug (all rescues!). I took the dogs on two long walks every day (3-10km) and dutifully followed instructions on feeding that included adding suet to Bruno's meals (because he was underweight) and making sure Pepper didn't eat it before Bruno finished (because he was becoming a chubby puppy). I also dealt with Bruno's special needs that included administering pills daily and putting on/removing his brace for his torn acl.

I would love to apply the skills I've gained growing up with and learning to love pets to look after all your animals large and small. Although, I have only recently moved to Dunedin and am new to Pawshake, I have considerable experience caring for pets. I am extremely active and would be thrilled to take your dogs on the happy long walks they deserve. I guarantee responsible and attentive care for the pets you love and would be happy to meet with you and your pets before you feel any need to commit to me.
