Ellarose

Hello!

My name is Ellarose and I am 21 years old, and currently a student in my fourth year at Otago University studying Sociology.

I have a lifelong passion for animals as I have grown up on a deer farm in Canterbury. My love for animals comes from my first hand experiences from growing up with pets over the years, my history with pets since growing up is where my passion for animals comes from! My previous and current pets include; Dogs, cats, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs and a pet deer! In 2022, I was fortunate enough to be able to foster two 3 month old kittens for around 4 months before they were adopted by a lovely family! My most previous experience with animals and pets is my families recently adopted a 12 week old French Bulldog named Izzy and 22 fallow fawns which I bottle fed each one from a few days old until just over two months old, at the start this included feeding them 5 times daily every four hours and monitoring their bowel movements and how much milk they drank (See photo gallery to see how adorable they were).

My experience with my pets include; cleaning of cages, feeding, bathing, grooming, play time with animals, giving oral medications and monitoring health.

As your pet sitter I will be dedicated to ensuring your beautiful pet receives the same level of care and attention as they get at home. Cleaning up after pets is no challenge to me, given my upbringing on a farm.

The neighborhood I live in is in Central Dunedin and is away from the student flatting area, therefore there are many pet friendly areas around my home. Unfortunately I am unable to care for your pets at my own home as it also goes against my tenancy agreement, however I am more than happy to come to you.

My availability is very flexible, I can offer my services morning, afternoon and night-time.

The services that I offer include; Walking of your animal, overnight stays, daily check-ins to your animal, administering oral-medications and grooming of your animal. However, if there is anything else that you need me to do, feel free to ask!

Home Visits:

During home visits to your pet(s), I will tailor my service to meet your needs and the needs of your pet. I will stay with your pets for the duration that you specify and offer companionship, feeding, and any necessary medications and playtime. I am also available for other tasks such as watering plants and bringing in mail. I will also clean up litter boxes and any accidents that happen. I understand the nerve of leaving your pet at home so I can send photo updates of us while you are away!

Animal Walking:

For walking dogs, I know that the length of the walk will differ to the needs of each different dog. I can offer my services for twenty minutes to an hour and a half walk. I understand that you know your dog better than anyone else so please feel free to name some places your dog enjoys! If you don't have a preference, I like Rotary Dog Park. Just up the road from my home there is a short forest track that dogs love!

House Sitting: 

During house sitting, I will ensure your pets needs are met and maintain their routines to prevent any disruptions to their usual schedule. I am available to stay at your house from Monday - Friday, however please enquire because I may be able to do weekends! I do have to attend university for anywhere around 1-3 hours during some weekdays, so I may have to leave your pet at home for this time. I will maintain a tidy presence in your home and can offer other services such as bringing mail in and watering plants. I will make sure, doors are locked at all times to ensure the safety of your animal and your home.
