Sophie

Hey, I'm Sophie! I'm a 21-year-old university student at the University of Canterbury working towards a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Chartered Accounting & Taxation, and minoring in Marketing. I'm originally from Mount Maunganui where across my parent's houses, I have 4 dogs!

When I made the move to Christchurch for Uni, I knew leaving behind my furry friends was going to be hard but I didn't realize how much I'd miss them until I got here. Now, I am looking to care for other pets in Christchurch to give them the love that I can't give mine right now.

Since I have grown up around a lot of dogs from a young age, I know how to care for one, it just comes naturally to me at this point. As I grew older, my dog-related responsibilities grew from picking up poo & taking them for walks to taking them to vet appointments, groomers, regular brushing, giving oral medication & special baths for sensitive skin, etc. Since, in the past 5 years, I've cared for both older childhood dogs who eventually passed away, and also puppies brought into the family, I feel that I've really been able to get a good grasp on the needs of dogs of all ages.

Since I'm a University student, I'm able to work from my computer so I'm able to be with your pets for most of the day! While I'm not able to welcome pets into my home, I would love to bring my services into your home, and where your pets feel most comfortable! I'm able to make day visits for feeding 1-2 times a day, stay overnight, or even just hang with your pets during the day so they aren't alone. I am also able to walk dogs for 30-90 minutes, depending on your pets needs and your preference as the owner!

While I am not able to bring pets into my home, I am really looking forward to getting to know your pets in their home!
