My name is Rachel Barnhill, I am 25 years old and am a Registered Vet Nurse with experience in both general practice and specialist medicine. Thus, my passion for animals runs deeper than a love for cuddling them! Working with animals and providing them with the most thorough and attentive care as though they were my own is my greatest passion and is a quality that makes me a highly valuable animal carer. My work ethic consists of carrying-out my duties with dignity, passion, dedication, enthusiasm and an open-mind.
I am very experienced when it comes to handling animals of all shapes and sizes. I am confident I will provide your beloved furbaby's with the care, affection and attention they deserve.
I have a lot of experience with appropriately feeding, toileting, medicating, exercising and socialising with animals. You can relax knowing your pet(s) will be in safe, experienced and capable care.
A lasting sentiment my previous boss said to me on my final day was; “Rachel, never have I had such a young and inexperienced employee have such a tremendous and positive impact on this team. Your passion and enthusiasm for the wellbeing of animals never went unnoticed."
I look forward to being able to support you by providing your pet with expert and compassionate care from a vet nurse who is warm, genuine and empathetic.
FAQ's Regarding My Services:
What are the specifics of your dog walking services?
- Dog walking (max. 2 dogs at one time)
- I am able to offer a maximum of 2 walks per day per dog
- Can be urban or rural depending on your pooches preference! Rural location can include parks, farms, beaches, forests etc.
- Am happy to conduct off lead walks if your dog is well trained and can be trusted to return to me on command.
- I will tailor the walk distance and speed based upon the age, energy levels, general health of your dog. (For example, if your dog suffers from arthritis, I am NOT going to take them on a 10km rocky terrain hike.)
What other services can you offer while providing day care for my pet?
- Basic dog training (sit, down, come here, fetch, lead-training)
- Basic grooming (nail clipping, brushing, teeth cleaning)
- Can confidently administer oral, rectal, ocular, aural, and injectable medications.
- If you have indicated prior to booking that your pet requires 'round the clock' care, then I will prioritise you and not book any other clients for that day so I am able to provide that.
- If your pet is booked for a full day of day care, then they will not be left alone for more than one hour, if at all. The only reason I would need to leave momentarily would be for an emergency.
Do you offer pet boarding?
Unfortunately not. I am happy to travel most distances to care for your furbaby's from the comfort of your home but due to my living arrangement, I CANNOT offer boarding from my home.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Rachel was great during her overnight stay with our dog. She kept in regular communication and shared lots of photos of Bohdi enjoying himself to help keep us at ease. Overall great experience and recommend! Thanks again 😊
This is the second I have asked Rachel to sit for us and she is wonderful caring for my pup as well as my home. Strongly recommended
