I've had cats for as long as I can remember growing up (peep the vintage photo of me and my wonderful cat Podge, who reached the ripe old age of 21!) and have been lucky to find several house shares with resident kitties since leaving home.
My husband and I have recently moved to NZ from the UK and we haven't decided yet if this is a forever move. We don't want get a cat who is happy here, only to drag them across the globe if we decide to head back to the UK in a few years.
But that means that there's a cat-shaped hole in our life and while we can't have a pet for ourselves, we'd love the opportunity to help other pet owners out, and to hang out with some fluffy friends along the way!
We live in a lovely unit between the lake and the sea in Takapuna and we are both lucky to have very flexible with schedules so we can often work from home at short notice, which would allow us to either nip out for a home visit, or to have a cat come to stay while we keep it company during the day. We have a spare bedroom for any shy cats who want to hide away, and it's got a great view into the bushes where there's lots of bird life to entertain them!
I've also had several other pets including rabbits, Guinea pigs, snakes and even stick insects, and have been a dog sitter for friends and family in the UK on several occasions so whatever your needs, chances are I can help out.
We would also be open to possible short term house sitting, by arrangement.
