Welcome to my Pawshake profile 😄

Over the past 15 years, I have had the wonderful pleasure of house & pet sitting across 5 different countries and various states within the USA. I am so grateful to have made lovely connections with families and pets alike and am looking forward to meeting you and your animals as well! 

I am originally from Michigan (USA), and I also consider myself an “honorary Kiwi” as a New Zealand Permanent Resident (someday NZ citizen ❤️🇳🇿). Growing up, I spent many summers working on my grandparents' family farm looking after various types of farm animals. Those early life experiences helped to teach me the best ways to look after many different types of animals and to confidently handle unexpected situations that may arise. I specifically have vast pet & home sitting experiences with animals of many types & ages (dogs, cats, chickens, fish, and tropical birds), and a variety of pet needs such as raw diets, administering medications, and keeping to specific animal schedules.

I work remotely which I have found to be perfect for taking care of your fur babies, whether that is for house sitting where I will be with them most of the time or just a home visit to comfort them in your absence.

With many years of home & pet sitting I have probably been on hundreds of dog walks, so all that to say, if it’s just a nice stroll that your dog needs, I am also here for you as well!  

From pre-visit communication to sharing regular pet pictures during your absence (housesitting), I love providing reassurance that your pet is enjoying its time, just as much as you're enjoying your time away. 💖

*Because I work remotely I can be flexible with morning, afternoon, or evening scheduling.  

*I offer (1 hour) home visits where I can administer medication, train with e-collars/training collars, play with them and their favourite toy, cuddles galore if they want, I will happily water plants you might have, and bring the mail in if needed. I can brush/groom your dog as well if needed, but only maintenance and nothing that would need a professional cut for their hair.  

* I offer my vast house and pet-sitting expertise in overnight stays at your home. (I unfortunately cannot have animals in my home as it's not allowed in my lease). During overnight stays I will be at the property most of the time you are away due to my flexible remote work schedule, which provides that extra layer of comfort for your dog not being left alone and added security having someone there for your home. I am also there for the things that sometimes aren’t planned in life- like anything that can go wrong on the property: ie. weather damage, burst pipe, etc. where a tradesperson would need access to the home, or any other services to get things sorted! Know that I am more than capable of handling such things (and have experienced events like this in my years of house sitting 😄 ). I will always leave your home wonderfully clean with a happy & healthy pet to come home to. 

***For house & pet sitting, I have a maximum limit of 3 dogs to look after during this time.   

*I offer daily 1-hour walks in your dog's favorite location (I will be asking for that information from you), with individual or small group walks with no more than 2 extra dogs (3 total) so I can give them all my full attention and care. 

*I regularly update my roster in advance, as I have private bookings outside of Pawshake that can be booked 1-3 months ahead. I love to be organised so both parties can plan accordingly.

{Dog Types}: The more information you provide me about your dog's behavior (especially outside of your home & around public spaces) how they are off lead/on lead, and around other dogs (big and small) will help to make everything run smoothly. 

I have experience working with dogs of various types/sizes and am happy to cater to their personality needs and adaptability in choosing the best dog walking locations.

I always love to know what your dog's "commands" are so that I can communicate best with them in their "language".
