My wife and I are Queenstown Locals. We work as a builder and vet nurse.
We love all animals, large and small. We regularly foster and rehome animals through the clinic.
My wife is a senior nurse and is fully qualified and equipped to take care of any domestic animal - her peers refer to her as the dog whisperer. I am yet to find an animal that doesn't fall in love with her after an afternoon of hanging out.
We love to get out and explore our beautiful country and taking a pet with us makes the experience that much better! We are local to the Otago area and know numerous dog friendly walks, swimming spots, and parks for socialising all around the region. From 30 minutes to a few hours depending on your dogs exercise needs.
We have been house flippers and moved from place to place with my trade. As such we live out of a motor home - it is NOT suitable for everyone, but we are happy to discuss options with anyone who thinks we would be a good fit to take care of their animals.
We both work 4 days per week and depending on the care required, can be quite flexible with our hours. Depending on the animal, it may even be able to come to work at either the clinic or the building site with one of us. My work is less than 100m from where we live if regular visits are required.
The services we offer are:
Animal and home care; we can stay in your property and look after both. We do not mind gardening or cleaning (within reason). My wife can clip animal nails, basic grooming, basic training, administer any medical treatment. Throughout the duration of the stay we are happy to meet any requirements you have for your pet or home, but can guarantee ATLEAST one walk per day.
Dog walking or home visits; if you are away and want someone to check in on your pet or stop by and take them for a walk. We can come by after work and do pick ups for a walk, take them for a swim or just a run around in the park for some socialising and play.
Animal boarding; we are comfortable with any animals coming to stay with us, but we do live in a motor home - please see pictures. If you are comfortable with your pet staying with us, we can make it happen, they will obviously be inside. We do foster animals from here (mostly cats and kittens before they get re-homed so they dont have to stay in the clinic). We would not foster any animals while taking care of a pet and would only take on one client at a time. Easiest thing to suggest is that our animal boarding is situational - if you think we sound like a good fit, then contact us and we can discuss options or specifics.
We are very tidy, very hard working and outgoing. Happy to follow any process or to do lists a home and pet owner would require to take care of things while they are away. We try and be as flexible as possible to meet any owner needs. We can even send you daily pictures so you know your pets are having a good time :)
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Steve absolutely saved my birthday by helping us out when our sitter fell through. He was really communicative and treated our old puppy well. We came back to a very happy dog. Would use him again!
