Nikki

We are caring & professional sitters recently returned home to New Zealand from two years' travelling and housesitting all around the world. We have sat through other websites internationally and can provide references for these housesits upon request. We are non-smokers who naturally keep a clean and tidy home. Police checks on both of us from Feb 2020 available on request. 

We've cared for pets of all shapes & sizes - cats, dogs (including St Bernards 95kg! Newfies & large Mastiffs), reptiles, farm animals, small pets, fish and alpacas. We've cared for all sorts of different homes, from a tiny cottage on a Canadian island to a large Bed & Breakfast property in Spain. 

We are very comfortable caring for elderly pets, pets needing medications, multiple pets and very large (or very small) dogs. Having our own car means we have recently been able to take the dogs we look after to local parks and beaches. While we do both work full-time, we have flexible hours meaning that at least one of us often works from home. Nikki works in a pet-friendly office so can also take dogs into work (when suitable for the dog and owner) where they can hang out in comfort and play with other dogs. We are available for overnight sits only and prefer longer-term sits (3 weeks plus).

We are both enthusiastic walkers and runners so always happy to exercise even the most energetic of dogs; we can easily manage an hour or so of dog walking daily with longer adventures on weekends. We will always respect the owner's wishes in terms of on- or off-lead walks and we're familiar with Haltis, Gentle Leaders and harnesses of many different types so can accommodate whatever walking system you prefer.

Nikki has worked with pets for 12 years, in nutrition, welfare and rescue adoptions. She currently works for a pet company as Supply Chain Manager. 

Chris has a background in electrical work and property management. A keen gardener and handyman, so your property (as well as your pets!) will always be in safe hands with us. We are more than happy to water plants and mow lawns but can also cover more specialised property jobs like weeding and gardening as needed.
