My name is Ollie, and I am a 25 year old pre-vet student from the States. I have been working in animal care, in some capacity, for the last 7 years, with the last 3 years of that experience being as a veterinary nurse (oral, injectable, topical meds-- I can do them all!). During my time as a nurse, I also had the privilege of working under a board certified veterinary behavioalist, meaning that I am very comfortable dealing with animals with behavioral issues (anxiety, reactivity, fear-based aggression, etc.). In addition to dogs and cats, I also have experience with small exotic mammals, reptiles, and birds. I love creatures of all shapes and sizes, and would be happy to help care for your sweet fur (or scale/feather!) baby.
I offer the following services:
- dog walking: I am experienced walking dogs with behavioral issues/reactivity, and using all sorts of walking equipment including gentle leaders and basket muzzles. For reactive kiddos, I would like to discuss triggers/any prior training work done. Generally I reccomend 30 minute walks for dogs, but am happy to lengthen or shorten that time depending on your pet's needs.
- in-home drop-in visits: If your dog isn't a walker, or if you have other animals (such as cats, ferrets, etc.) in your home that need some love, I am happy to do in-home visits and handle any medications that need to be administered or feedings that need to be done.
- overnight house stays: traveling without your loved pet can often be stressfull for you, and your animals! I am happy to stay in your home with your critters, where they will be the least stressed. With 3+ years of veteriniary nursing experience, I am confident with giving medications via any route, and dealing with any medical issues that may arise while you're away. I am also happy to perform other house sitting duties that may need to be done-- watering plants, grabbing mail, etc. (As a note: I am a uni student and have on-campus obligations during week days, so I would be the best fit for animals that can deal with 4-5 hours of alone time a day)
