Hye Jin

Who I am - Hello, my name is Hye Jin. I moved from Florida to study veterinary science at Massey. I love working with all kinds of animals and want to share this passion by offering pet sitting or pet walking services. I have previous experience pet sitting, dog walking, and making sure pets get daily medication for their health needs. I've previously worked as a veterinary nurse/technician back in Florida, so I have a good foundational knowledge of pet behavior and optimal care. I will take all your concerns into consideration and try to be flexible when needed.

Pet Visits - During pet visits, I can make sure your pet gets all the food and medications they need. I am also able to work with other animals, like feeding chickens once a day! For our feline friends, I'd be happy to clean out their litter boxes during the visit as well. 

Pet Sitting - I usually will stay at your home for pet sitting so that your pet does not have to get used to a new environment with other animals. While you're away on holiday, your pet doesn't have to get used to an empty home. During pet sitting days, I can stay with your pet as long as needed, whether that be multiple visits in a day or staying at your home in your stead. During pet sitting, I would be responsible for feeding, medications, and providing company. I can also help out with watering plants or bringing in the mail if needed. Plus, I will send an update at least once a day to let you know what your furry friend's (or friends') day consisted of!

*because I am a student, even if I am temporarily living in your home, I will be out for a few hours to go to class

Dog Walking - My dog walking services are divided in 30-minute and 1-hour sessions. I usually walk within the neighbourhood or I can even drive to the nearest dog park. During the walks I will provide water breaks (if needed) and make sure your dog gets the exercise they need! Because I usually walk dogs when owners are at work or running errands, I make sure to send update photos during pick up, mid-walk, and drop off. 

Training/Grooming - I am not professionally trained as a dog trainer, but I do have experience working with guide dogs in training and also have worked with my own dog to have good behaviour! Of course, no dog is the same. All dogs have their individual personality and I am here to embrace that. I love all animals whether they like to keep to themselves a bit more or they like to socialise. 

*I do prefer working with animals that are vaccinated, but I know there are exceptions to this because I've had a FeLV+ feline that could not get extra vaccinations. Hope to hear from anyone who is interested! Thanks
