Thank you for considering to check out my profile! My name is Marj and I used to work as a Veterinary Nurse for 4 years before I took a leap of faith and decided it was time to try my hand at nursing humans. I am currently doing the MClinPrac at Massey to become a registered nurse. Throughout my childhood I have always been around animals, rescuing them from the streets and taking them home with me/us bakc in the Philippines. My dog Mojo lives with me and my parents in Palmerston North. He's a 13 year old Labrador cross with arthritis and im pretty sure early onset dementia!
Nothing fills me more than seeing a happy and content animal. I am confident with looking after all breeds (big and small, friendly and spicy, young and senior). For example, if I am looking after reactive dogs then I would walk either early morning or early evening around spots that aren't too busy. I am currently studying full-time via distance so I am mostly home during the day. However I do have clinical placements throughout the year that would require me to be out of the house between 8-10 hours. Because of this I can only look after animals that are capable of being left at home happily while I am out. For animals that need specific care (puppies or anxious dogs that cannot be left at home - this is also possible so long as it's not around the time I am on placement)
I have my own car so I am able to transport your furbabies wherever they need to be (vet appointments, ability to take them to after-hours if need be). I have experience in administering oral and injectable medications should they need it for maintenance. I will care for your animals like they are my own.
My house visits in Palmerston North would be around 30mins (morning and evening) which will include feeding and toileting and even a little bit of playtime! This will depend on the animals as well. I have looked after animals that prefer to be by themselves so if you just need someone to visit 1-2 a day to feed them and fill up their water bowls, take mail inside, open and shut your curtains and even water your plants - I will do that!
Dog walking - this is something new that I'm offering for Palmerston North locals. If you are out for long periods or at work all day, I can come at midday and walk your furbabies for 30mins-1hr depending on the area you live in.
I would love the opportunity to meet and care for your beloved furbabies while you are away. I am big on photos so you will definitely get photo updates! I am happy to meet up and be able to get to know you and your furbabies. I understand each animal have their own needs and preferences so I fully support the idea of meetups to ensure you and your pet(s) would be comfortable with me before you decide to book :)
FYI - my partner also helps me out and would pet sit with me occasionally depending on his work schedule
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.

Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Marjorie looked after my precious papillon Harry for 3 weeks. She stayed at the house and did a fantastic job looking after both Harry and the house. She really went above and beyond. I was so nervous leaving Harry on his own for the first time but Marj took all the stress out of it by sending me regular photo updates and letting me know how he was doing. I think he is going to miss her! And I would not hesitate to recommend her highly! Will definitely be calling on her again next time we go away. Thanks a million xx
Marj was fantastic with our dog, reassuring, fun, kind and knowledgeable about her healthcare needs. She is capable, responsible, and a lovely genuine person. I would recommend her without hesitation.
