Having had Pets all my life from cats, dogs, scorpions, gold fish and exotic fish, I understand that for some us, pets are more than just another mouth to feed, they are family or a part of the working crew.

My pets are my entire world and my dog has a custom built platform for rides in the car.
My days off revolve around my dog and he is definitely living his best life as is his cat friend.
We go tramping, camping, swimming and playing fetch as a family.

I have a strong understanding of high prey drive dogs that are very smart and need lots of mental stimulation as well as exercise. 
I have a working knowledge of dog behaviour and understand not all dogs want to play with other dogs, some just want to play ball or have a sniff walk with their human and that's ok!
My pets are not over fed and they all get along well together.

From running with your dog, going on adventures with your dog, medicating animals, to cuddling with cats, walking a cat on a harness, playing fetch or enforcing basic training for your dog and feeding fish, I am happy to assist you in caring for your pet/s in your home when you are away or walking them when you are unable to.
I will treat your place and pets with the utmost care and respect and ensure your home is kept safe and tidy.

Skills/ Experience/ attributes:
- Respectable, educated adult that is strong and able bodied.
- Non -smoker, alcohol and drug free
- wfh most days with occasional trips away.
- Experienced with a large variety of dog breeds ranging from the very small to the very large and of various ages from puppy to senior.
- Experienced with various training methods for dogs
- Experienced in giving medication (oral) to both dogs and cats.
- Experienced with resource guarding 
- Experienced with littermate syndrome
- Experienced with working dogs 
- Experienced with reactive and socially selective dogs
- Experienced with senior dogs and cats: blind, deaf and incontinent 
- Experienced with dogs with a high prey drive
- Ability to take your dog out to some awesome places for a great run or sniff walk or basic training walk.
- Ability to follow feeding times, set routines and house rules
- Ability and passion to assist you with caring for your pet/s as required.

- I will do a fee free meet and greet of 20 minutes if our schedules match/ you provide sufficient notice.
- Nelson city based with own reliable transport servicing Brightwater to Todd's Valley, Aniseed Valley to Mapua. ( Can do further afield upon request).

I can also:
Water plants and collect mail if you need.

Things you need to let me know
- Is your pet on any medications
- Incontinent
- Reactive, if so, to what?
- Resource guards 
- Anxious/ scared
- Who their vet is in case of an emergency
- Their food portions and feeding times
- Are they treated for fleas and worms etc and when were they last given the treatment for the aforementioned?
- Is their recall solid?
- Any other pertinent information 

Walks are for 30min to maximum 1hr including travel time, unless your animal gets too distressed or is is too problematic. 
I prioritise taking dogs out for an adventurous walk instead of just around the boring block, subsequently, longer walks can be arranged via prior agreement but may incur additional costs.

Half day dog sitting is $45.


Please ensure you are providing at least 72hrs notice of a booking request when possible as my schedule doesn't always permit late notice changes.
