Kia ora, 

My name is Lydia and I'm a 27 year old, Nelson based animal lover.

I have previously worked for the University of Otago but have actually spent the last few months travelling overseas and have recently moved to sunny Nelson.

I am a huge animal lover. I grew up with a cocker spaniel and despite never replacing him, my love for dogs in general has only grown. I look forward to the day that my lifestyle/living situation suits owning a dog again but until then, I would love the opportunity to help care for yours. I’m also more than willing to look after other family pets. 

I am an active person who enjoys going for walks and would love to have a furry companion. I have experience looking after a friend’s dog and am happy to work in with your needs. 

I have a flexible schedule and can be available most weekdays after 5pm. I would typically walk dogs for at least 30minutes but am more than happy to take direction based on your dogs needs. I would prefer to walk dogs who live nearby (nelson town) and am happy to fit in 1 dog walk per day.

Having been a dog owner in the past I completely empathise with owners’ worries about leaving your beloved pet with a stranger, I can assure you I would care for your pet as if it was my own. I’m happy to send regular updates/photos and as mentioned, can be flexible with regard to the care your pet needs. 

I am more than happy to answer any questions and to discuss specific pet sitting requirements. I’m also happy to meet beforehand to ensure I’m a perfect match for your furry friend.
