Ruth

Hi, I my name is Ruth. I graduated in 2005 with a diploma in veterinary nursing from Unitec and then in 2015 with a certificate in captive wild animals. I have spent most of the last 17 years working in a variety of veterinary clinics in Auckland and the Waikato with some time zoo keeping (exotic birds) at Hamilton Zoo. I have also worked on farms milking cows and sheep and raising lambs.

Currently I am studying part time a Bachelor of Science(technology) at The University of Waikato. I am majoring in Ecology and Biodiversity with a minor in Animal Behaviour. I hope to be working in a vet nurse or ecology role soon to support my family while I also study.

I am passionate about providing the best possible care to animals, large and small. I consider it a priviledge to care for your pets and treat them as though they were my own. I am available for home visits to feed and/or medicate your pets.

I am happy to care for cats, dogs, birds, mice, rats, fish, guinea pigs and rabbits. If you have some other kind of pet, I am likely to be ok with caring for it too.

I am friendly and down to earth and am happy to work in with any special veterinary requirements including (but not limited to) :Oral and injectable medications, flea and worm treatment application, gentle massage and range of motion therapy.
