Hi! My name is Rosa, I’m 21 years old and I am a qualified Diploma Veterinary Nurse currently in my final year of completing my Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. Alongside my studies I am also working part time as a Veterinary Nurse.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, many of my earliest memories and photos of me include animals and wherever there are animals, you will find me. My journey with animal care began in 2022 when I discovered the profession of Veterinary Nursing. Since then I have thrown myself into my studies, loving everything about the new learnings. I volunteered at Cat Rescue, where I handled many different types of cats and kittens, from friendly to timid and extremely wild. I cared for cats that were healthy cats until they found their forever home, and also nursed very sick kitties back to health so that they too could find a forever home. I was lucky enough to foster two beautiful kittens, who have since been adopted by a lovely family.

During my studies, I filled all of my holidays with work at my local Veterinary Clinic, where I put into practice everything I know about clinical nursing. I worked as an animal technician for the University of Otago where I was responsible for 100+ rats and mice. I provided basic husbandry as well as health monitoring and reporting. I now work at a local companion animal veterinary clinic where my study workload allows. I have recently begun horse riding lessons and am having so much fun being surrounded by and learning about these animals.

As I do not currently have any pets of my own, I can’t wait to meet and hang out with your animals and care for them as my own. I can provide holistic care, taking them on fun adventures and/or providing engaging mental stimulation activities at home. I know how much your pet means to you, so I can provide photo/video updates on all the cool things we get up to.

My services can include dog walking, daily visits, husbandry, medication administration, day care and any other individual services your pet may require. Unfortunately I can’t take animals into my home, nor do overnight stays. However, I am able to do multiple checks per day including late night/early mornings if you are away and worried about your fur baby. These services will be specifically tailored depending on the needs of your pet! I understand some may enjoy an uninterrupted routine, while others may love to discover new places and experiences.
