I am based in Wellington and offer overnight petsitting in your home.

I began petsitting in Canada in 2016. It started with one family who needed someone to look after their three dogs and cat when on holiday, and by solely word of mouth referrals I ended up consistently petsitting for many families over the past 9 years which has led me to look after over 50 cats and dogs. I've now moved to New Zealand and am sad to have left all of those lovely pets behind. I'd love to meet some here to fill that void!

I grew up with cats so I'm familiar with having animals around, but majority of my clients back in Canada were dog owners so I'm very comfortable with both. I've administered oral and rectal medication for dogs and cats, and am willing to learn to do injections. Many of the dogs I look after are quite anxious or have behavioural issues that mean they aren't able to be taken to an overnight kennel while the owners are away.

I like to stay active so I will gladly walk your dog and play with your pets, but my absolute favourite activity is to snuggle on the couch. Nothing beats an evening in with a good movie and a cuddly animal.

That being said I take a respectful, and if necessary slow, approach to letting pets get comfortable with me. I let them come to me and never want to frighten or startle a pet with a new person coming into their home. I am very patient if an animal needs to take their time getting used to me.

As well as regular petsitting in the city where I lived in Canada, I've also done a bit of petsitting while travelling. I've looked after pets in Australia, France, Hawaii and now New Zealand.

I love to hike so if there's an opportunity to take your dog on a hike I would absolutely love that : ) A couple of the photos in my profile are with a dog I looked after in France, we were able to go on a few really beautiful hikes together.
