About me:

Hello! I am Jazmine, a 35 year old animal activist/enthusiast; I grew up absolutely fascinated with animals and I have always had pets! I have personally had the following as pets: spiders, tortoises, dogs, cats, fish and mice.

As an adult I have taken my passion further, I have been vegetarian nearly my entire life however I have been vegan since 2016 after becoming more involved in animal ethics.

Education:

I am usually working, studying and/or volunteering to be around animals as much as possible.

 I have an undergrad and a postgraduate degree in Zoology from Otago University. I have just graduated from VUW studying conservation biology for a master's degree. I am chiefly interested in animal behavior, welfare and endangered species.

Experience:

I have experience working with all kinds of animals, including rare and endagered species. I used to work on a turtle sanctuary in California. I also worked in animal care as a zookeeper at Wellington zoo. I volunteer as a snorkel guide showing children the animals of the ocean, and with Zealandia as a science story teller.

I currently have a 5 star review status on a similar pet sitting website. I have had a lot of experience taking care of pets in the last 5 years including: Basil the black and white cat, Brix the standard poodle, Hilary and Daisy the pugs, Kali the black cat, Princess the ragdoll, Jimmy the ragdoll, Nyx the German shepherdXBorder Collie, Millie the GreyhoundXLab and her son Eddie and Marty the mixed breed just to name a few! I also have plenty of experience with other pets such as rabbits, spiders, and especially reptiles; so I am comfortable working with different species.

Concluding thoughts:

I had a dog who was often left in the care of others when I travel so I understand the importance of trustworthiness, reliability, communication and love when caring for other people's animals. I often took my dog to the beach, the forest and urban walks; I liked to change it up for him so he doesn't get bored.

I strive to provide you with the peace of mind that I find invaluable when leaving my own dog with an animal carer. I am at your service to adhere to dietary restrictions, warnings and concerns you have; I can also send photos to you. I can arrange a meet and greet with you to meet your pet initially.
