Kia Ora my name is Lara:)

I live in Miramar Wellington.

I’ve been volunteering at the SPCA with felines and small animals for nearly a year. Some examples of things I do in this position involves, giving the cats love and affection, giving them food and water cleaning their rooms and litter trays, taking out rubbish, cleaning and disinfecting their belongings like litter trays. I have come in contact with all sorts of cats with different personalities and experiences and I make sure that anxious or traumatised cats are shown gentle care. 

I also help the cats and small animals get adopted, Introducing people to the various cats and helping them choose which one is right for them. I play with the cats and keep them company this brings me tremendous joy:)

I have a certificate of achievement from Canine Solutions for basic obedience course that my own dog Eva graduated from.

I’ve always grown up with cats and a variety of other animals for example rabbits, chickens, ducks, fish, dogs and more. Still to this day I own a cat and two dogs, fish, and chickens. which I love very much and when my family goes away on holidays, study or work, I am entrusted to take care of them and the house.

Please let me know if you need me to be aware of any of your pets wants and needs in particular, for example brushing, medication, any injuries or trauma.I can take care of plants, deal with any rubbish and mail. I will ensure that your house is safe. 

I am a volunteer at the Zealandia sanctuary in Wellington. Some things my role includes are taking care of the plants and animals, helping make people’s experience at the sanctuary fun, educational and to keep people safe. roving sharing facts and giving talks teaching people about Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna and how we can protect it. I interact with people of all ages. I also used to be a Junior Ambassador at Zelandea.

I have a casual job as a children’s entertainer which has given me more experience working with children occasionally animals. I used to volunteer at opportunities for animals op shop I would get to visit animals I was raising money for.

I am kind, gentle, understanding and good with animals and have experience with a variety of animals, flexible, open to feedback and great creativity. 

My experience in performance, film and theater and from studying the arts. Has also given me social skills, confidence and the ability to think quickly while staying calm and grounded in stressful situations using logic and creativity to help solve tricky scenarios. I strive to have a positive impact on other people and the world around me. Being the best I can be while always learning.
