Hi, I'm Sara.

I work from home and live with my 11 year old son Remy and our 7year old Fox Terrier Patch. My son and I are interested in dog sitting as it means we get to spend time with different dogs, plus have some canine company for Patch. I work until 3pm in a home office, then pick up my son from school. I prefer reasonably calm dogs as I am working at a desk and can't be watching them during my work time. My property is fully fenced with a large garden, and there's a dog door for small dogs to come and go in the garden as they please. Some of the fencing is around waist height, so I'm probably not suitable if your dog is a bit of an escape artist and will jump a short fence to get out.

Patch normally gets two walks a day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon or evening. We live 5 minutes walk from the Hutt River, so this is normally our dog walking area , where the dogs can go offleash if desired. Patch is quite timid, so you can be guaranteed your dog will feel happy and secure at our house, but she loves other dogs, so would be great company for your pet.

For dogs staying overnight, I always ask for them to come with their own food, bed and toys.

I don’t look after puppies as they need too much attention when they’re in a new environment, and I can’t devote that attention to them when working.

My experience so far has been that most dogs are comfortable very quickly in our home, and enjoy their stay.
