~Mini-Dog Retreat!~

NOTE: We only take small dogs 3kg or less, as we have chickens and our dog gets on best with other small dogs.

Hi!
I'm Brittany, and I live in the beautiful countryside of New Zealand on a hilltop amidst gorgeous greenery and birdsong. We are an animal-loving family and have a few pets ourselves: a little 13 yr old pomeranian X papillon dog named Star (Little Bear), and 23 beautiful chickens. We are frequently visited by wild doves, kingfishers, and other birds! As a family we love adventure, nature, healthy living, music, animals, books, creativity & philosophy. We believe in a gentle and respectful way of caring for animals, so you can be assured that your dog will be well cared for. We have done house-sitting previously and also looked after animals. Our cottage has a spacious big front lawn and our property is full fenced and gated. Your dog will have 24/7 company as I am a home-maker and we are a Life-Learning (home-educating) family. My husband works from home. We look forward to caring for your beautiful creature(s) :)

Details of our dog:
Star is our little furry pomeranian X papillon who also goes by the name 'Little Bear'. She was born in 2011 and she loves curling up in cosy warm places: on her owners laps, lounging in front of the fireplace, spending time in her tipi, and resting in the sunshine. She likes to chase tennis balls, and she especially likes anything tiny and round; even in her old age I've seen her play with guavas, peas, and tiny pinecones - rolling on them and throwing them up in the air with her nose and paws. She tends to be a sensitive soul and usually takes a little time to warm up to new people and creatures, but once she's finished analyzing them she treats them as part of the family. Star brings us much joy and we love having her in our family!
