Hi, I am a mother of three girls my eldest in Dunedin has the little dog in photos who grew up with my dog Girl. I have a 15yr old at home with high and complex anxiety mental health needs who currently only leaves the house for one walk a day. I am studying a diploma of psychology from home after graduating from Otago polytech with level for in health and wellbeing in mental health and addiction. I have worked earlier in the year in a rest home to do something to help due to lockdown but have recently had to resign to stay home due to my daughters' needs. we live out the back of Rangiora in a rural setting a walk away from the Ashley River and a 10-minute drive to Woodend beach.
I do a lot of camping and tramping with my dog and my friends' dog, and am currently preparing my boat to be ready to sail. I live a quiet life spending most of my time outdoors in the garden and working on my car, my kid's cars and my friend's cars. I currently have my friends dog staying while she transitions with the help of women's refuge into her own safe accommodation for her and her dog, Rosie. My 19year old daughter has also just come home after a relationship breakup where she was fostering dogs through the SPCA. I have a passion for people in need and their dogs and therefore have just given wee Pebbles a permanent place with us after she was abandoned having been abused. She is a little timid but very gentle and loving and in no ways aggression. My dog has references as to her temperament training and behaviour from the SPCA where she spent 3 weeks boarding when we were forced to relocate to Christchurch.
Any pets in my home will have me with them all day and my 15 year old although she is generally in bed. they will sleep inside on any couch or my bed usually or if preferred can sleep in their own bed if provided. I do not feed my dogs meat only dry food as I have found it stops the dogs being territorial around food although dog treats are a daily thing. I can only take female dogs as my landlord's dog who resides behind my section, reacts to male dogs. My place is fully fenced with trees raised gardens and an outside den I spend a lot of my time in.
A typical day here is get up at 730, although my dog likes to sleep in till 1030. I spend the morning around the house then we either go to the local dog park the beach or a walk around the country block which is 2kms and consists of walking along the Ashley river stock bank. If I do drive to Christchurch to visit my mother for friends my dogs come for the ride. I don't typically walk my dog when it is raining as she doesn't like rain at all. My Dog is trained off the leash with good recall and her and my friend's dog, therefore, spend a lot of time once we get to the stock bank chasing rabbits, really just chasing them away. For my dog's safety, I can only take vaccinated dogs; including the yearly kennel cough booster shot and dogs that have good socialization with either dogs, they also must not be aggressive.
You are welcome to visit my property first with your dog.

This was the first time we had left our wee coco in someone else's care and we couldn't have been more happier with Hope's care we received updates and photos daily reassuring us coco was well looked after. We will definitely use hope again.
