About Hannah

I’m a dedicated animal lover and responsible, reliable dog + cat carer and dog walker who would love to help look after your furry family member. I know just how important it is to ensure their happiness, safety and wellbeing and will always care for them as if they were my own.

Experience & Services

With 15+ years of experience, I have been lucky enough to care for a variety of animals (dogs, cats, rats, and even wombats!), including a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments.

I offer a range of individualised services with flexibility to cater to your animal’s needs. Whether it’s a one-off or regular dog walk to ensure their mental wellbeing and exercise, drop-in visits to provide companionship, or a customised care plan tailored to their specific requirements (such as administering medications, transport to routine vet visits, etc), I am here to make sure your furry loved one is happy and content.

I have experience looking after senior dogs, sensitive/anxious dogs, and animals with medical or special needs. I can administer medication if needed, such as tablets, and am also trained to give subcutaneous injections. I will always diligently follow any instructions provided by you. I also have training in canine first aid, ensuring that I can provide the utmost care and safety for your beloved animal(s), and I’m familiar with multiple local vets in the area. I can also provide basic behavioural training reinforcement during our time together.

Attentive, individualised care to meet your needs

I’m committed to providing attentive, individualised care for every animal I work with. Having shared 12 of the best years of my life with my own dog Ollie, I really understand the importance of finding someone who you can trust to genuinely care for your furry loved one’s wellbeing just like you would yourself.

I always consider each individual animal’s specific needs and provide regular updates (and photos!) to ensure your peace of mind – so you can rest assured that your furry friend is in responsible and trustworthy hands. For more information on this, also see the ‘Safety, trust & environment’ section below.

I adore animals!

Nothing makes me happier than spending time with dogs, cats, and other animals, and I have been lucky enough to spend most of my life living with and caring for them. Their loyalty, playful nature, and ability to bring joy into our lives never ceases to amaze me. Growing up with a Golden Retriever, and a wonderful ginger tabby cat, as part of my family, and then going on to find my best friend and sharing my life with the most joyful black lab Ollie, as an adult, I understand the incredibly special place they hold in our hearts, and the importance of creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our animal companions.

I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to care for and spend time with your furry loved one. Please feel free to send me a message to organise a meet-and-greet so we can ensure a perfect match, get to know each other, and I can understand your animal companion’s care needs. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Safety, trust & environment

I offer dog and/or cat drop-ins to your home as I’m not currently able to offer boarding at my own house. For dog walking or drop-in visits, I’m very happy to adapt according to you and your companion animal’s needs. I’m very familiar with dog-friendly and safe areas for dog walking in Queenstown and the surrounding area.

I am extremely diligent when it comes to caring for animals, and understand how to provide a secure, calm but also stimulating and fun environment, with an acute awareness of various safety considerations both inside or outside of the home (reading dog body language, awareness of hazards such as food on the ground, secure areas for exercise, etc).

I own a car so can travel to you, or even help with transport to routine vet visits at times you can’t attend yourself. Just get in touch and we can discuss possible arrangements.

You can rest assured that I am committed to your animal’s wellbeing while in my care :)

A typical day

I will always adapt to the care needs of your furry loved one and listen to what you tell me about what they need and most enjoy doing in their day, whether that's during a walk or a drop-in visit. That might look like:

- lots of cuddles
- exploring their favourite nature spots, safe + dog-friendly parks and walking paths
- playing with their favourite toys
- fun activities that reinforce recall or other behavioural needs
- scent training
- calming and soothing downtime and rest
- etc!

My aim is always to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that is adjusted to your animal's specific needs and wants - and to ensure your furry loved one feels happy and content while enjoying a fun time with their 'animal aunty'!

What I'd like to know about your companion animal(s):

Please let me know if your companion animal has:
- any medical conditions or allergies
- any special needs
- your registered veterinary practice

It would also be useful to know:
- your furry friend's favourite toy(s), favourite activities, favourite places for walks, favourite treats or snacks, etc
- how they get along with other dogs and/or cats
- their dietary needs (type of food, quantity and frequency, any relevant restrictions)
- whether they have any 'special habits' to keep in mind (scavenging food scraps while out on a walk, etc)
- if you are comfortable with off-lead exercise, and if so, under what circumstances

Please feel free to share any other information you would like me to be made aware of.
