My name is MacKenzie, I am 23 years old and have spent the last few years working in rescue organisations in both New Zealand and London. I received extensive training in dog behaviour and handling while working as a team leader at one of the most reputable animal rescue organisations in the world - Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. I have also spent a year and a half working for a local doggy daycare once returning to New Zealand and have recently moved to Auckland city to work part-time and focus on a career in the music industry.

I started off on the career path I had always dreamed of since I was a child and begun studying my Diploma in Business Management in 2014 and continued on to complete my Bachelors in Applied Management with the goal of moving into the corporate world. Luckily for me I chose to volunteer with the SPCA in my last semester as research for a project and I never turned back! The last few years have taken me on an incredible journey of discovering my passion for dogs and animal welfare.

I have recently moved to Kohimarama from the small town of Waiuku in South Auckland. I am available to service multiple areas, if you aren't sure please feel free to send me a message!

Each dog walk will consist of at least 30 minutes of walking but can be increased to up to 1 hour of mixed walk and play depending on your dogs fitness level and requirements. I believe that while physical exercise is important, mental stimulation and exercises that encourage your dog to think and learn while playing are just as important and provide your dog with a much more fulfilling workout. Depending on your location and your dogs preferences we can establish a walking route or area that is suitable.

A home visit will last anywhere up to 1 hour depending on your requirements. During this time I am happy to feed, refresh water, take to the bathroom, administer oral medication, play with and cuddle your pet. I think that home visits can be a beneficial service for both you and your pet - providing peace of mind while away from home as well as comfort and company. Home visits can be great for puppies or dogs who suffer from separation anxiety and might like to have a bit of extra attention and care during the day.

The wellbeing of our furry family members is of high priority and I understand the importance of finding a dog walker/sitter that both you and your dog are comfortable around and trust. I am happy to meet both you and your dog/s prior to a first booking being made in order to establish this trust and relationship and to ensure that we are the right fit for each other. I'm aware that communication is also a large part of building and maintaining this relationship and am happy to send photo/video updates to you throughout our time together. This extends to letting you know immediately if I have any issues or notice changes in behaviour or anything wrong with your dog and taking the appropriate action. I am happy to contact the parents of dogs I have previously worked with to provide you with their feedback as well as Facebook reviews from when I was employed at doggy daycare.

Animals are my passion and their enthusiasm for life and constant loyalty are traits that inspire me each day. I would enjoy nothing more than getting to know your beloved pet and to provide them with the highest standard of care and comfort.

* I have my own car and a clean record full New Zealand drivers license and am happy to travel or pick up/drop off within a reasonable distance.

* For dog walking services and home visits I cover a distance of 20km from my home address in Kohimarama to your location as complimentary. Locations outside of this 20km radius will incur an additional fee of $1.00 per additional km. Please feel free to contact me for an exact quote. The 30 minute - 1 hour walk excludes driving and travel time.

* Home visits and house sitting are also open to feline family members. Feel free to message me to find out what I can offer you and your feline companion.
