I know from personal experience that leaving your beloved fur babies in the care of another can be very stressful and worrying. That is why here at the Four Paws Chateau, your four legged family member will be welcomed into ours.

They will spend their time with myself, my husband and our 2 year old miniature poodle Cindy. We live a five minute walk away from a fully fenced dog park, our home has a fully fenced backyard with plenty of trees and bushes to sniff and explore and a beach that is less than 10 minutes drive away.

If the weather keeps us inside then we have plenty of toys, puzzles and enrichment activities to keep us entertained! And when it is time for a nap, they will be spoiled for choice with cosy spots like our large couch, a squishy chair, a double bed, floor cushions and soft blankets!

I have experience working at a small dog daycare so I can read dog's body language, have an understanding of the basics in how they communicate and know the importance of creating a safe and calm environment. I also have some experience with elderly dogs as I had a 15 1/2 year old miniature poodle whom I sadly had to say goodbye to in 2023. She had arthritis and pancreatitis and daily medication was the norm for a long time.

Some details of my services:

- I am able to give oral medications and ear drops, do general hygiene things like cleaning eyes, brushing and bathing.

- For my boarding service, all dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations and flea and worm treatments. Only one dog will be boarded at a time to ensure that your pup feels comfortable and relaxed. Your pup will enjoy 24/7 company and companionship, minus the odd hour or two if I have errands. When I do pop out briefly, I have a wee wifi camera that I turn on to check on them while I am out.

My backyard is fully and securely fenced and gated and I always supervise any outside play. Indoors, we have stairs leading up to our bedroom, which I have a baby gate at the bottom of to prevent any accidents. If your pup boards with us they will have the option of making themselves at home on a queen sized bed in our spare bedroom, or if they have a crate provided we can put that anywhere they will feel most comfortable. We do keep our bedroom off limits to guests to ensure that our wee girl can maintain her own space. If your pup is upset and unsettled at night I will absolutely sleep downstairs with them if that's what they need to feel comfortable and reassured.

- For my dog walks, I can walk any one dog twice a day for 30 minutes each (dependent on the dog's age and physical ability). If only one walk is required I can offer 30 minutes or one hour. We can start the walk from your home or if they're a keen beach or bush doggo we can jump in my car and go!

I also prefer to do a meet and greet before confirming any bookings as I like to make sure that both humans and dogs are comfortable with our home and with us.
