We love pets but at the moment do not have any of our own so we hope joining Pawshake will give us the opportunity to get some pet love while we decide what kind of pet to commit to. One kid wants a cat and one wants a dog so this will help us decide which pet to get :)

I (Nichola) grew up on a dairy farm so have lots of experience with all different animals (cows, horses, pigs, sheep) and always had a pet dog and cat growing up. We spend a lot of time with our family members dog 'Cass'. He is a medium sized dog that needs lots of exercise so we take him for walks on the beach and throw the ball to him. Our neighbours cat is always coming over for snuggles and a pat and we are always the first pick for daily visits to our friends cat Sugar when they go on holiday. When we go for walks all of the neighbourhood cats come out for a cuddle and we love stopping and saying hi and giving them all a pat.

We are a family of four (Mum, Dad and two kids 4 & 6) and we do not have any pets of our own.

I work from home so there will always be someone around for your pet if I had to pop out I could take the dog with me or if it does not like to go in the car it could stay home for a max of 1-2 hours. I only really pop out to get the kids from school or run errands.

If your pet was to stay over we could put a bed in the lounge or bedroom, where ever it is usually comfortable sleeping. We have a fully fenced secure backyard and the beach is just across the road so we would take them for walks at the beach or the reserve at the end of our street. We would go for 1 or 2 30 minutes walks a day. More or less depending on what your pet is used to. We would only have one pet boarding at a time so it would only be your pet that we would be caring for.
