A Little About Myself

Hi, my name is Rachel Hatfield, I am a uni student that studies Vet Nursing at UCOL. I am originaly from the States and have moved here with my family 5 years ago due to my mom being kiwi. I have loved animals since I was a kid and have dreamt about helping animals in need and just be around them 24/7. I love the outdoors so walking dogs gives me another excuse to go out and explore my environment. I don't mind the rain which means i'd be able to give your dog the attention and play time it needs no matter the weather, which is probably a good thing since Palmy's weather is so unpredictable!

My Skills

I have worked in various vet clinics, doggy daycares such as Unleashed here in Palmy, and catteries . This means I have a lot of experience handling animals of all sorts, from cats to horses. I am recently worked at a doggy day care which means I am well informed with dog behaviour. In my role I interact with all sized dogs, playing with them and watching them to make sure they're having fun and playing well with others. I also drive dogs home for owners who can't come pick them up. This experience benefits because if you have a shy dog I won't force an interaction, I will have the patience to allow them to get to know me.

A Day With Me

My motivation for becoming a sitter/walker is to get outdoors and interact with different animals. Being able to make them happy by providing excercise and love brings me joy. I can walk your dogs or just play with them in your yard but no matter the area my focus is making sure they're happy and having fun! I am good at dealing with any sized animal. A typical day with me would either include an hour of play and cuddles at your house or an hour of walking either around your neighbourhood or along the riverside. After the dog has recieved an adequate amount of excercise and play time I would then take the time to give them water and cuddles. If you decide to take advantage of my house visiting option, this would entail either 1 or 2 visits per day depending on which option is best for you and your animals. I would come at an agreed upon time to feed your animals and give them cuddles as well as a play. If you have any questions or additional needs just let me know :)

Service Details

~ Dog walking: a walk would include me taking your dog(s) for a walk around your neigbourhood or to the a fun place such as the river for anywhere between 20 minuetes to an hour. The time will depend on the dog as well as the dog's age. This service varys bewteen owners and their pets.

~ Home Visits: home visits for dogs usually includes me going to your home and letting your dog out to the toilet, lots of play time, cuddles and I can even feed your dog if that is want you need. This service lasts up to an hour depending on the owner and pet's needs. This service can be used for when you get a new puppy and just need an extra set of hands to help with letting them out for a toilet during the day and having a play so that they are nice and relax when you get home. A home visit for cats includes going to feed them and give them a cuddle and a play. This service is usually shorter (30-40mins) as I find cats tend to have a shorter attention span when it comes to cuddles and play time. Home visits can either be morning, afternoon or night. The specific times may vary depedning on the owner and pet's needs as well as my schedule. I am normally very felxible :)
