Hi! I'm Jennifer, and I am a recent graduate of Agricultural Science in Massey University.

I've always loved animals for as l can remember. Growing up, I would always go out of my way to pet any stray cat/dog on the streets and I would sneak away from family gatherings in relatives' homes just to play with their pets. My dad is an avid fish & bird lover, and even he was amazed when I managed to train his flowerhorn fish to "spin" for treats. 

Thanks to him, I developed a love for birds as well and currently own two lovebirds, Tom & Jerry, whom I raised myself. 

My goal is to make friends with every animal that I meet, whether it be a bumblebee looking for a ride to a nice patch of flowers, or a horse acting cute for pats but secretly sniffing around for extra treats! I like to go on walks around Palmy, and since I have some time in my hands at the moment, it would be nice to go around with a dog, though I'm more than happy to play with a pet indoors as well!

While my degree is in agriculture, I have completed a course in Animal Behaviour & Welfare, and I apply that knowledge coupled with my own experience to make sure that every animal can feel safe and comfortable enough around me to express themselves (which does tend to end up with an endless petting session).

I have volunteered in Massey University's Cat & Dog Unit for kitten socialising & dog walking, and was also responsible for caring for seven working dogs (Huntaways, NZ Heading dogs, and a Australian Cattle dog) as well as two English Shorthair Pointer dogs for the summer of 2024/25 on a property near Christchurch.

I am punctual, reliable, and love taking pictures/videos (if allowed to) of animals so always happy to keep you updated. Looking forward to meeting new furry friends!

I have my own car so I'm more than happy to come over to take care of your pet and negotiations can be made for additional tasks around the home. Feel free to message me for any questions! :)
