Hey there, I'm Amy!
I am a student living in North Dunedin, and have just completed my bachelor of science in pharmacology at The University of Otago. I am completing my honours degree in pharmacology this year.
Back home I am the proud owner of a cheeky toy poodle named Bailey, who I absolutely adore and have walked and trained since he was a puppy. I also am a proud mum of a Ragdoll cat named Olly, who I love and miss dearly.
I have always been an animal lover, and immensely enjoy spending time with dogs and cats, and making them happy. Last summer I helped a family friend walk her two beautiful golden labradors, Olly and Lemon, and have since developed a special soft spot for big dogs. I also worked closely with a family friend who works with Smart Pups in Australia training dogs, and have gained many skills in dog training, including the correct way to teach basic commands, skills and walking on a leash. I have since become highly passionate about ensuring dogs are trained correctly, to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them.
I offer walking services, in-home pet sitting and drop-in visit services. I am able to walk animals any day of the week, in both the mornings and the evenings of weekdays, and at any time which is convenient over the weekends. For home visits, I visit for 45 minutes to an hour, and ensure the animal has sufficient food and water, spend some play time, and depending on the animal perhaps taking them for a walk around the neighborhood. The visits could be in the morning or the evening, or both! For house/pet sitting, I am very flexible regarding the duration of time I am able to stay, and can arrange a situation which works best for you. The happiness of your animal is my top priority, so I try to cater all of my services based on what I think they will enjoy the most.
I absolutely love dog walking, as it combines two of my favourite things: animals and the outdoors. When deciding where to walk, I vary the destination based on the animal. For example, if I was walking a large adventure loving dog, I may take them for a walk up Flagstaff, whereas I would take a smaller more social dog for a walk along St Clair. The duration of the walk again would depend on the animal, but would be a minimum of 40 minutes.
I love animals of all shapes and sizes, and am always keen to make a new furry friend! If you're looking for someone to walk or babysit your fur baby get in touch and we can arrange a situation which works best for you.

After meeting Amy and taking our boys for a walk with her had no aprehension about leaving our guys. Photos and comunication were great. House was as how we left it. Our boys were super happy, so were we. Hope we can book Amy again.
Amy went above and beyond for our cat while we were away. He tends to get anxious on his own and takes time to warm to strangers entering the house. Amy went out of her way to spend time with William, cuddle him and even groomed his summer moult... not to mention watering our garden! When we returned home our cat seemed so chill :) If you want someone who cares as much as you do about your fur-baby would definitely recommend Amy!
I am completely open to any required background checks.
