Hello! I'm Taylor!
I am a 24 year old Masters of Wildlife Management student at the University of Otago, and I am originally from the United States!
My past jobs include backpacking guide and park ranger, but I’ve moved to New Zealand to pursue a career in endangered species management. I have always loved animals, and my family has had Golden Retrievers and cats since I was young. My partner and I don’t currently have any pets because we are renting, but hope to move somewhere pet friendly soon!
I’ve been known as an enthusiastic pet sitter since high school, where I would watch our neighbor’s cats while they were on vacation, as well as run with my friend’s energetic border collie while her mom worked. Recently, I got a lot more experience with pet sitting when my partner’s parents adopted a border collie puppy. Because everyone in the family worked, I spent 8 hours each day being Kinley’s sole caregiver. We would spend time working on the leash and commands, playing with toys, crate and potty training (and cleaning up after her!) I learned so much from that experience, and by the time she was 6 months old I was extremely proud of how far she’d come! Not to take all the credit, but Kinley has grown into an exceptional dog- she is great with kids and strangers, polite around other dogs, and follows the rules inside the house!
I am available for dog sitting, young and old, large and small, as well as cats! I like to run with dogs if they are up to that- if not, we can definitely walk as far as they’d like. I live just south of the city center, up in the hills, so we could go to the park or the beach or wherever is convenient!
Currently I am not in school and have not yet found a part time job, so I am available anytime.
I pet sit because I can’t have my own right now, and I’d love to treat your animals as if they were my own, giving them all the love they deserve while you’re away!
