Hi! My name is Melissa. We live on a 5acre lifestyle block & have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 3 rabbits, chickens & sheep!
I worked as a vet-nurse for 5 years till the arrival of my eldest child and have been a stay-at-home-mum since. 3 years ago, a lady advertised on our local locavore page, looking for a doggy daycare for her 7 month old Border Collie, Monty. As I am home alot & have dogs close in age to Monty, I decided to offer "homebased" doggy daycare to Monty. Monty would come hang out with me & my pack for the day! We would work in the garden, clean out the coops & hutches, feed the chickens & the rabbits, fix electric fences, throw sticks, run in the paddock & chill out togather! 3 years on, Monty & his sister, Mabel (who joined the family 2 years ago) still comes for a fun filled day! Every so often, I would also provide informal boarding for my Monty & Mabel or friends dogs when they need to head away out of town.
As my kids ( I have 3!) get older, I have more time freed up during the week and would like to look at taking on more dogs for daycare here at my home or provide a dog-walking service around your home area if you prefer. I am an active person & enjoy brisk walking or even running with your dog depending on what their activity requirements are.
Doggy Daycare - Informal, homebased set up where your dog comes & join my pack for the day on our lifestyle block. A meet & greet with my dogs will be required to ensure that your dog will be a good fit with my pack. Your dog will need to be up to date with their vaccinations & worming.
Dog Walking - I come to your home to walk your dog. A full solid hour of walking/running/play to ensure that your dog has the stimulation & exercise it needs while you are away!
Other Animals - I love all animals & will care for your cat, rabbits, birds, chickens, etc. I am also comfortable caring for livestock.
Special needs - I am a vet nurse by training & can medicate your pet & tend to any special needs as required.
I can offer pickups & dropoffs pending on location.
