Hello!

We are Frances and Zsombi, a married couple based in Orewa, Auckland. We are passionate about animals, especially dogs. At 31 years old, we have both gained extensive experience in both pet sitting and house sitting here in New Zealand and overseas using a site called "TrustedPetsitters". 

Whether it's looking after your pets in your home, feeding them while you're away, or taking your dogs for walks, we are here to provide dedicated and loving care.

Growing up, I (Frances) had a Fox Terrier/Jack Russell named "Skip," while other family members had Greyhounds, Border Collies, and Labradors. This has given me a broad understanding of caring for different pets. Currently, I have two Chihuahua/Papillon/Yorkshire Terrier mixes, Millie and Sadie, whom I’ve personally trained using the techniques I learned from my studies in behavioral psychology at the University of Auckland. I’m especially proud of Millie, who appeared in a NZ Police Recruitment video. When I pet sit, Millie and Sadie stay at my parents' farm, allowing me to fully focus on your pets during that time. 

Zsombi has experience with a range of pets, but is especially experienced with larger dogs such as Leonbergers (which he grew up with).

What sets us apart is the care and attention we give to your pets. During overnight stays, we make it a priority to regularly update owners with photos and videos of their pets enjoying their meals, getting cuddles, and going for their favorite "w-a-l-k" (we have to spell that word in my house!). Since both Zsombi and I work from home as software engineers, we are able to spend at least 80% of the day with your pets, ensuring they receive plenty of love, care, and attention (there are also the two of us looking after your pets, rather than just having one person). We also provide a complimentary walk each day we have an overnight petsitting booking.

We have found that overnight stays go smoothly when we receive a clear list of expectations — whether your pets are allowed on the furniture, if they’re strictly indoor or outdoor pets, or if they can roam in and out freely. Having these details helps us to maintain your pets’ routine and ensures everyone is comfortable! 

In addition to being a non-smoker and a bit of a neat freak (your kitchen will be spotless when you return), I can provide a New Zealand Police Certificate showing I have no criminal history (I used to work in government so this is pretty standard and I am happy to provide this). I can also provide references from happy pet owners if needed.

I’ve worked with most dog and cat breeds and have experience caring for birds, fish, and guinea pigs.

As we spend more time with pets than the average sitter (and there are two of us looking after your pets), our rates reflect the extra care and attention your pets receive. As part of our services I (Frances) offer my culinary skills free of charge and if provided the ingredients, I can prepare homecooked meals for pets, which is something I regularly do for my own dogs— they’re spoiled with chicken, turkey, pumpkin, a little bit of broccoli, carrot, and brown rice topped off with bone broth (their favourite). I’m confident you’ll find peace of mind knowing your pets are in good hands.
