Hey there! I'm Syd.

Originally from the US, I've been in New Zealand since 2015. Through the years (and in several countries), I've taken care of dogs, cats, birds, fish, farm animals, and more, sometimes for months at a time. I'm so excited to meet new animal friends here in the North Shore!

I'm available for home visits, walks in your neighbourhood, and staying overnight with your fur children. Whether they like to be alone or need tons of attention makes no difference to me, my priority is that they get what they need to be happy and comfortable while you're away 🙌🏽

I have extensive experience with raw feeding, oral and injected medicines (dogs and cats), high-needs pets, elderly animals, and more.

If you have houseplants, I can also give those some TLC while you're away to make sure you return home to a happy and thriving home!

Before the first visit, I'll come over to meet your pet and see the lay of the land as well as get any special instructions from you. I know being away can be tough, so I'll make sure to send you tons of pictures and videos during my time with them!

- Neighbourhood walks last from 30-45 minutes; please supply the poo bags, but if necessary I can grab some more for you. I'm not able to transport pets in my car right now sadly, but we'll still have a ton of fun on our adventures!

- Home visits last 20-40 minutes, where I tidy up any messes they've made, water your plants, and have a cuddle/playtime!

- Overnight stays: we'll work out the exact time, but generally evening to morning. I won't leave your home for more than 30 minutes during that time, so it's continuous time spent with your pet! They are my main focus during this time. I don't mind if your pets sleep with me, if that's what they're used to!

I'm based here in the North Shore and currently live with my partner; we're planning to add a dog to the household soon! Until recently, I lived with my best friend and our 3 cats, and though they live a whole 5 minutes away now we still have sleepovers and play dates often.

A bit about me: when I'm not booping a snoot or getting cat hair up my nose, I read, write books, and restore antique furniture. I also work on film sets and am a photographer and watercolour artist!
