About Me: Hello I'm Katie, a 29 year old Art Teacher and Special Ed Career. I've recently moved to New Zealand. I grew up on a farm surrounded by different pets so have lots of experience with different kinds. I miss being around animals which is why I am looking forward to every fur baby I get to meet for their company, walks and belly rubs!

Experience: From past pets I have experience of cows/horses/a pet chicken Frieda/ goldfish/ rabbits/ cats (indoor & outdoor) / and dogs (an hyper Collie (Max), a once energetic Labrador (Lizzie) who is much older now and needs shorter walks and more care and companionship and an unknown rescue breed (Bobby) who was very protective and unsocial around other dogs/people. I also used to work in our local vets during the summer for work experience before I trained as a teacher so I came across lots of breeds caring for people's pets.

Why I joined Pawshake: I was recommended the app while on a workaway as I was walking the family Dogs(Arthur & Mo) multiple times a day and taking Arthur for runs who is a large strong Labrador before I moved to Auckland from the countryside. Having grown up with pets I know how hard it is to leave them behind when travelling or heading away and trying to organise people to feed and walk them or provide company which is why I would treat your pets like my own.

Dog Walks: I am happy to walk any size and breed of dog, I have dog walked while living in Dublin for university and during my WOOFING in Nz I have loved every dog I've lived with for walks and runs.

House Sits: I have house sat with pets in Ireland for family/ friends and clients and during one of my WOOFs here in Nz. I am happy to follow your normal routine (if your pet is fed at 6am I will continue this / if they sleep with you at night I will do the same / if you have a training system I will learn and adapt to it).

House Visits: I am flexible with work at the moment and can arrange to drop in to check on your pets, play with them and let them out for the loo or walk/run.

*I have house sat and offered house visits for a Parrot Louis (to feed and put a blanket over his cage for nighttime) but have no experience of rodents or ferrets, I have included these in my services as I am content to gain the experience and care for these too.
