About Anne
Hi, there is 4 of us living in the house, myself and my husband, our twin neices who are in their 20s.
We love our shared our lives with our babies and know how important it is to be able to trust them with others when we travel.
We have several animals of our own, three well walked dogs, 8 chickens whom happily stay at home with family if we are at yours.
Our walks often consiste of some lead walking with gentle training and taking time to get to know the dog. There is a bit of footpath walking then into bush and tracks. This is from our home.
We do daily 20 minute walk up hill followed with some play time in a clearing that my dogs just love getting the zoomies around and stick chewing. So the time we leave home and return is close to an hour. I don't throw sticks, happy to kick a tennis ball.
Other walks included daily are around our back track area again on lead and some off lead if they are good with recall. This walk is anywhere from 30 minutes to as long as we like. There is minimum of 30 minutes daily on this walk also.
So any given day there is about 1.5 hours walking, if your dogs is older, injured or just wishes not to do this much we will reduce and take note. One of my girls often comes when she feels like it and makes it very clear when she is not into the idea.
We are all good at understanding dog behaviour in our home and when out walking. Due to having 3 dogs every walk is a small pack walk.
With dogs staying with us we are happy to walk in smaller groups like two at a time to help with control. This also means as I have 3 dogs who know the areas and they help with giving the rules etc to the new babies.
We do enjoy a romp down the beach sometimes, love going to the Glenduan to watch the waves and enjoy the track again on lead where needed. I am often in the maitai going along the tracks for a wander with the dogs. So they are not limited to just one place.
For at our home stays we prefer a later afternoon 5, 6 or 7pm drop off and pick up times with dogs, preference is already well walked and this allows a better understanding of how the house works for them. It is normally quieter around this time. We are able to do a short walk with owners then on the tack to get an idea of the best commands and trainings needed.
I would like an introduction with your dog first to assess temperament for them coming into my home followed by a visit just a nice short one for all to meet.
I trained as a vet nurse.
Working now in a different industry,
Murray is a night driver.
Tegan works in retail and Olivia in hospitaliy.
We all pass police checks.
Our home is occupied most of the time. We all have different rousters and shifts throughout the week. This works in well for a number of people taking notice of animals in our home. Playing and enriching their lives in the back yard and sometimes just chilling out on the bean bag getting snuggles.
We have a good fenced back yard with lots of undercover area to sit. A full sized doggy door into the back yard. Our dogs have full access to the home and back yard. They sleep in the bedrooms often with us. There are bean bags outside and smaller beds inside in several rooms.
We have the ability to set up a crate if your dog sleeps in one please bring it with them. Also their favorite blanket is a good idea to help them settle.
Happy to come to your home or maybe sit your babies in our home depending on the fit and we prefer vaccinated dogs. Comfortable to walk in your local area where the dog knows. Also happy to transport to locations if needed.
We are happy with small animals, birds, rodents, dogs and cats, no problems at all in your home.
We are totally comfortable with inside only animals and fully understand the logistics of this, if in your home house sitting.
I work days and hubby nights, so the house is not often unattended and we are both happy to potter a little in the garden. We are often not both out at the same time. We will respect your home and love your babies. We are happy with animals who sleep on beds, comfortable with routines like inside at night cats with dirt boxes.
I am comfortable coming in and doing home visits for small animals eg cats, birds and rodents left home alone. Happy with feeding and cage cleans etc. I can do morning and afternoon visits. Happy to bring mail/parcels inside, I can put rubbish bins out on days needed. Water plants or other needs of the house.
I am comfortable with administering medications. Happy to do some needed grooming like knot clipping or brushing but not able to do a full groom.
We will only take one dog at home at a time due to the nature of a busy house with 3 other dogs already. This is about safety for all. This allows the dogs to have a good time and helps them fit in with the training routines and become relaxed quickly.
I will update the calendar often for times we are available.
