Thanks for checking out my profile. :) I'm a Thai Texan/Californian American who's currently in her fourth year of vet school at Massey University in Palmerston North. I love dogs and hope to one day be able to foster/adopt one from Retired Working Dogs NZ. (Obviously, animals are my passion but a cool fact about me is that I LOVE primates - if you do too, then we'll be fast friends!)
I am very experienced in animal care and handling having been an Adoption/Animal Care Specialist at my local animal shelter and as a vet technician at a 24-hour emergency hospital for companion and exotic pets. I have also volunteered at a zoo, wildlife sanctuaries, and community vaccine clinics for pets of low-income residents. I have also worked on various farms throughout the country and have spent time caring for horses, sheep, and cattle.
I have been with Pawshake for about a year now, and I enjoy being able to care and provide love for your animals as if they were my own. My services include:
*DOG WALKS: 30-minutes to 1 hour depending on owner's wish
*ONE & TWO HOME VISITS: Includes dog walk(s) if applicable
*HOUSE SITTING: Includes occasional trips on dog-friendly hikes and beaches (in addition to regular walks) if applicable and depending on owner's wish as well as retrieving your mail, taking out trash/recycling, watering your garden, and any other needs your home may require
*DAILY updates and pictures are provided with each booking depending on the owner's wish
I'm very detailed-oriented, a great listener, and a strong communicator. Rest assured - your pet will be in good hands with me!
Mint is awesome, super friendly and was really good with our puppy. 10/10 would recommend
Mint was so helpful when I had put my back out and wasn't able to walk my dog. My dog is dog-reactive and requires a harness, double ended lead, and treats when walking as part of her training. She is a strong dog and is classed as a large dog. Mint was more than happy to help and walk Fudge over 3 consecutive days and did so beautifully. She gave no judgement over Fudges reactivity problems and did a great job with her. Fudge wasn't too keen to leave the house with a stranger on day 1 and 2 and kept looking back to the house but by day 3 she was excited when Mint arrived because she knew what that meant - she associated Mint with walking i.e. FUN so obviously enjoyed her time walking with her! Can't thank Mint enough. She is so sweet and seems very knowledgeable and understanding, which is so important to me considering my dogs special needs. Really impressed and will 100% use Mint again in future for walks, house sits etc.!
