I am currently a fourth-year veterinary student at Massey University. I applied for the course because I have a passion for improving the quality of life of all creatures great and small. I am originally from a sheep and deer farm in Marlborough and had many pets growing up which I learned to care for appropriately. My current pets include a horse and a cat. As a result of my extensive experiences with animals, I have both good animal handling skills and stockmanship.
I love the outdoors and pets provide a good motivation to get out and about. Generally, dog walks would be around an hour long but I can also cater to those that need patient, shorter walks. The skills I have obtained in my studies mean I will be able to appropriately administer any medications that your pet is being given. I also have training in animal behaviour and handling and so can manage animals that have more specific needs.
I am committed to giving your pets a smooth transition while you are away and making their, and your own experience, as stressless as possible. Daily updates will be provided if you wish.
My working hours vary within 8-5 pm, meaning that I can stay with your pet during the evenings and/or feed them in the mornings. I am based in Summerhill, Palmerston North, and am available March - October.
Rachael is lovely. Our pups immediately warmed to her. Will definitely have Rachael to stay here to look after our pups! Thanks Rachael!
