Hi, my name is Rachel. Animals have always been a big part of my life, I've had many different pets since childhood including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, cagebirds, chickens and fish and also time with horses and farm animals. As a qualified veterinary nurse with nearly twenty years experience in a small animal practice, I work closely with animals every day and can confidently recognise any changes in your pets health, while under my care. I enjoy the company of animals and love meeting new clients and their pets and having the responsibility of taking care of our patients. I am also very fortunate to have been able to help with local wildlife including yellow eyed/crested/snares penguins, many sea birds, seals, kereru, hedgehogs, hawks, owls and reptiles and the like.
I can offer home visits and happy to get mail, water plants etc. Also boarding of exotic and pocket pets. I work full time with varying hours and can do one to two visits per day. I currently live in Harwood on the Otago Peninsula with my two teenage sons who also love animals. We have two dogs, four cats, chickens and one guinea pig. I have a current drivers licence and vehicle, with keen, friendly dogs to go places.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting you and your pet.
Rachel cared for our much loved cat again recently and as before, we came home to a happy pet who was pleased to see us but had clearly received excellent care. Thoroughly recommended.
Rachel was the perfect minder for our cat. She was punctual, careful and our cat liked her right away. Her care was exemplary and problem free. Highly recommended.
Can administer any medications needed eg. tablets, ear/eye drops, insulin.
