I'm Felipe, and I moved to the greenest Garden City to study for my Master's at the University of Canterbury. With pet sitting I've found meaningful way to support myself and my wife doing something I truly enjoy, while offering a reliable, professional service that benefits both pet owners and their beloved companions. 

Experience:

Having spent 8 years working in the Brazilian Federal Police Dog Section as a police detection dog trainer and handler, I've gained experience in understanding canine behaviour and needs, especially with German Shepherds, Labradors and Belgian Malinois. I've also been a friend and volunteer of Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue. This background equips me with the skills to ensure that your furry family member receives a professional care he/she deserves in your absence.  

I found in pet sitting a passion. It's more than just a job for me, it's an opportunity for me to stay connected with dogs, and recreate a portion of my life back home that I really miss and giving your pet the same affection I'd give my own.

My goal? To ensure your peace of mind while you're away, knowing that your furry best friend (and your home) are in experienced hands. You relax, I'll handle the belly rubs, training and treat time! :)

House sitting:

The night sitting includes at least one nice long walk to exercise and get lots of sniffing and playing (45min to 1h). Additionally we will have fun with many play sessions during the day and no limit or restrictions for cuddle time of course! 😊

I will do my best to keep their routine and times for walking, feeding and other special care if needed. If you'd like, I can also keep or provide basic training (no pulling on the lead, waiting to eat/enter/leave the house/gates, no jumping, etc) while keeping your pet in his comfortable environment and routine based on the instructions you may provide me.

- During the weekends, I am available for pet sitting full time, but on weekdays, I'm available from afternoon (4:30pm) until the next morning (8:30am).

- Walks: Available full time on weekends, but on weekdays only after 5pm.

- The 1x home visit is at least one hour and includes a visit to feed, change water, clean what is needed, toilet time and of course a great playing/training/fun time. 

Occasionally, my wife Sara joins me in pet-sitting if it's not a problem. She's another pet lover who's been working in the Hospitality industry since our arrival in November 2022.

Please rest assured that I'll keep your home secure, tidy and clean for when you come back, keeping eventual towels and bedding washed before we leave. I am also happy to do other home shores as instructed, such as watering your plants, collecting postal, taking the bins out, etc.

I like to think how beautiful it is to realise that we, humans, couldn't be what we are today if pets, especially Dogs, didn't have a fundamental chapter in our "human history book"! We've been trailing this world and evolving together! How can we not love them if their history is deeply mixed with ours? 

Though I love Dogs, I'm happy to look after all species from hamsters to horses, count on me.
