Hi and thank you for reading my profile. I am a professional, woman aged in her late 50's. I have a genuine love of animals and have a cavoodle who I have had since she was 8 weeks old - I also owned another dog for 13 years whom I had since he was a young puppy. I owned a cat for 10 years and have had other pets including a beautiful big white bunny, a budgie and goldfish. I am an accredited SPCA foster carer and have cared for rabbits and kittens. While I do not have a veterinary qualification, for the past 35 years I have been a Registered Nurse, with ten of these years working in a busy Emergency Department and as a Paramedic in the Ambulance Service which has given me some transferable skills when caring for animals. I have experience giving dogs and cats tablets, and to date while I have not needed to give my animals insulin, as a health professional I have a good knowledge and understanding of insulin in maintaining appropriate blood glucose levels and have had extensive experience in administrating insulin and monitoring blood glucose levels for people.
The owner can expect a high level of care and attention will be given not only to their pets but their house and property and would immediately address any unforeseen event that may occur during my stay and ensure that you were informed.
I invite you to have a look at my references, including the NZ Police vetting report. I would love to meet you and your pet(s) and hope that you will consider me as your house sitter.
Best wishes
Ginny

I am an accredited Foster carer for the SPCA during which to date I have cared for rabbits and kittens. have experience giving cats tablets and while I have not needed to give my animals insulin, in my role as a health professional I have a good knowledge and understanding of insulin and its importance in maintaining blood glucose levels and have had extensive experience monitoring blood glucose levels and administering insulin to people. Although I do not have a veterinary qualification, for the past 30 years I have been a Registered Nurse, with ten of these years working in a busy Emergency Department and as a Paramedic in the Ambulance Service. In my current employment, where I have been for more than 14 years, I have lectured at a University level on health and the delivery of health care. These transferable skills have furthered my ability to manage unexpected situations that may occur including in the event an animal becomes unwell.
I have had a Police check undertaken which I passed successfully which is required to work with the SPCA
