Hey, I'm Melissa.
I am a 23-year-old animal love since way back when I first found out what animals were. I have grown up around animals my whole life. I am currently working as a full time qualified Emergency Veterinary Nurse. I started out 3 years ago in General Practice in 2016, then in March 2017, I discovered my passion for Emergency Medicine has been there ever since.
I have many experiences under my furry belt of house sitting for cats and dogs, all around Auckland and I even did a months house sit for 2 gorgeous dogs in England earlier this year (2018). I am more than comfortable to look after more than one animal if you own a small flock of furry friends, or I can give your solo friend all the attention they need.
Being a Vet Nurse I feel gives me that extra edge in attending your animals needs with the highest quality care. Your animal/s will get feeds twice a day, walked an appropriate an amount of times and all the love and cuddles they desire. If your pet has special medical needs eg; is Diabetic, Hyperthyroid or on daily medications, I am more than comfortable administering these correctly and safely. With myself looking after your furry friend you can rest assured they will be in the best hands possible and if anything unforeseen arises you can trust that I will take any necessary actions required for your pet's health.
I can take your dog on a 30min-1 hour daily walk dependent on their individual needs, and provide your cat plenty of cuddles and pats daily.
PLease bear in mind that due to my job of being an Emergency Vet Nurse I do 13 hour shifts. At the moment my roster is every Saturday and Sunday during the day & usually 2 eveings a week. Your animals would need to be okay being on their own for extended persiods of time until I can get back to your home.
I am around most of the week during the day allowing me to spend that extra time walking your dog/s, or spend some time with your cat cuddlings and brushing (if needed). Of course, your house will be well looked after as well. References can be provided if necessary.

Graham and I were very happy with Melissa. Our fur babies were looked after really well and probably didn't miss us at all !!! Melissa also taught us a few things - we have been giving them too many cat biscuits in their dishes and I was really overdoing the kitty litter in the trays. You don't know these things until an experienced vet nurse comes along.
Thanks Melissa - who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks !
We will not hesitate in getting Melissa back again - probably get her to housesit next time.
