Hi! I'm Paula, living in Island Bay, Beach Haven, with my husband and our 2yr old boy Rufus, a Jack Russell. who loves meeting new dogs (and people), and we know he'll welcome your little one as part of our furfamily too! 

Rest assured that your pet is treated as a member of the family! My self employed, dog-loving husband and I are home a lot, so your furbaby will have plenty of companionship and care. We often meet with other dogs for socialisation at least once a week, and walks include beaches, local parks, shops, the local cafe, and bush walks around Beach Haven, Birkenhead area. We adore little dogs and the character they have!

My experience with caring for animals is vast. I've provided emergency pick ups/drop offs to vet clinics, in-home day/evening cat/dog visits/feeding, along with walking neighbours and friends dogs. I began in-home pet sitting way back in 1997, both cats and dogs. As an Executive Nanny, I cared for elderly cats, puppies, adult dogs and cats, administered oral medications/eye drops, did feeding, walking, training, vet visits, and dealt with an unexpected passing of a beloved meow who's owner was away. 

I also raised from puppy, our beloved Jack Russell, Angelo, including training, nursing him after a severe dog attack when he was two, then as a senior, two years with kidney disease, failing eyesight, and hearing, before he passed away earlier this year at almost 19 years of age.

Dogs must be social, friendly, with updated/recent vaccines, tick, flea & worm treatments.

My dog, Rufus is a velcro dog due to being a Humane Society rehome, so it's essential we do a meet and greet with you prior to your booking to ensure we are a good fit. For Inhome Visits/Pet Sitting, Rufus may be with me as my husband travels often, to be discussed prior to booking.

I currently offer:

Doggy Day Care: Socialisation, play, companionship, feeds, and administer any required medications for your pet. Property is fully fenced with a grass front yard and paved courtyard. Dog Beds/crate provided. May include a walk or outing. I like to visit your dog first before we agree to service.

In-home Visits x1 per day **The following areas only**: Beach Haven, Birkdale, Birkenhead, Glenfield, Bayview, Hillcrest, Chelsea.

Pet Sitting: North Shore/Ponsonby Only

I find it useful to list/write down important things for when I arrive to ensure your pet's needs are met for each specific interaction, as things can change with our beloved pets. The information required includes:

• Your dogs name, and 'affectionate' names
• Emergency contacts, yourself/other person, vet number, preferred emergency vet
• Type/Quantity of meal
• Medication information - time/frequency/dosage
• Allergies/dietary requirements
• Treats, if applicable - also if required for obedience
• Type of training/discipline undergoing/words used
• Walk info - fav type of place, on/off lead, friendliness with other dogs
• Any and all behavioural issues - especially if you pet is a rehome/background knowledge
• If your dog is crated - door open or closed
• If your pet likes snuggles or is hands off.
