About me

Hey, I'm Sophie. I grew up on a lifestyle block with lots of animals, and have owned multiple dogs, as well as fostering rescue dogs. It's not time for us to own our forever dog (yet!), but I'm a Puppy Fosterer, and love walking, training, and dog-sitting. I believe in being firm and fair with animals - following through with any command, and rewarding good behaviour. Having lots of fun and exercise is important, too!

I've fostered 5 rescue puppies over the past year, and have experience with anxiety and reactivity.

I used to be a secondary school teacher, so I have a police clearance certificate, clean criminal record, and am happy to provide references.

Dog-sitting

I live in Mt Eden with my partner, and we love going for long walks, visiting dog parks, and going for trips to the beach. We're both very active (we run marathons and love hiking), so if your dog loves exercise they would get a good workout with us!

Each dogsit includes a minimum of 2X one hour-long walks or runs, as well as lots of play and cuddles. If they're more low-key, I can also take it more slowly - happy to adjust to your dog's pace and requirements. 

Our furry guests get lots of cuddles and loving, and we update the owners daily so that you know your pet is happy, healthy and safe. When dog-sitting, I structure my weekends around the dog, so they would not be left alone at all. I ensure that any activity I’m doing (beach, run, walk, cafe) is dog-friendly. Our house is secure, and your pet would sleep in the lounge (pictured) and all exercise will be at beaches, dog parks and on walks (rather than in the yard). Dogs can check in after 3pm and check out by 10am. Outside these hours the day boarding rate applies.

Dog-walking

I can pick up, exercise and drop-off your dog. I agree with the owner on the type of exercise and duration that suits your dog (happy to walk, run, or take them to a dog park or beach to play), as well as whether you're comfortable with them being off-leash or not. The price includes a minimum of an hour, and up to three hours.

Home visit

Again, I agree with the home-owner on the type of home visit that suits your dog. I usually spend a minimum of an hour playing with your pet, as well as taking them for toilet breaks and checking their food and water supplies. I can also check the household is safe and take out any garbage and check the mail (if required.) The price includes up to three pets, for a minimum of an hour, twice a day.
